A few kilometres from Bisca Grands Lacs, set off to discover Arcachon bay! In the Gironde, bordered by the Landes forest and Atlantic ocean, a visit to Arcachon Bay will lead you to small oyster ports and unspoilt beaches.

Arcachon Bay: between small oyster ports and small villages

Arcachon Bay has many assets… But the favourite is the oyster ports and small colourful villages, where you really feel like you are on holiday!

Coloured wood cabins, small beaches and pine boats set up the traditional decor of the area’s villages: you are naturally in Arcachon Bay! In the midst of the typical small hamlet ambiance, enjoy a few fresh oysters in an oyster cabin on the water. A glass of white wine and a few oysters with friends: the perfect recipe for happiness!

Visit the Arcachon Bay oyster ports of Gujan-Mestras, Arès or Andernos-les-Bains and meet the oyster producers, genuinely in love with Arcachon Bay… To experience this to the full, get on board with an oyster producer and discover the oyster parks and their profession.

Arcachon Bay and its natural treasures

Pilat dune, Cap Ferret peninsula, Banc d’Arguin park, Ornithological Reserve in Teich, Pointe aux Chevaux… Evocative names for magical places! Remember to take your camera to capture these magical landscapes at sunrise or sunset.

When visiting Arcachon Bay, try out different activities between forest, ocean and Bay: kayak, bathing, sailing… So, while at Bisca Grands Lacs, you fish at Grands Lacs, on the beaches of Arcachon Bay, shore fishing has priority! Have an outing to gather a basket full of clams, crabs, mussels or even periwinkles!

By boat or on bike on the Arcachon Bay

The main activities of Arcachon Bay are cycling and boat excursions! From Bisca Grands Lacs, get to Arcachon on bike by following the Vélodyssée! It is the best way to see Arcachon Bay calmly and view all the landscapes surrounding you.
For those who prefer the sea air, board a boat and visit the Arcachon Bay… Do not forget the magnificent Ile aux Oiseaux, or Cap Ferret lighthouse standing proudly on the horizon…

To reach Cap Ferret, we recommend you take the ferry from Arcachon and take your bike on board. When you get to your destination, set out on an adventure on the Cap Ferret peninsula! On the agenda: lighthouse tour, bathing on the ocean beaches, stroll around the marketplace, oyster-tasting…
