Les Gascons de Biscarrosse
The Gascons of Biscarrosse propose in spring and in summer visits in forest with for theme the traditions Landaises... You will meet there people who know how to take the time to live, and you will have the occasion to make the acquaintance of many natives landais and biscarrossais.
1) The association's resiners are reviving a discovery trail on gemmage. They welcome, with prior reservation, all those who wish to discover the forest and the exploitation of the resin. Real enthusiasts, these Landais wished to share with you their love of this history through a faithful and playful reconstitution of what was the job of resin maker.
Visits take place on Wednesdays: 10 a.m. in April, and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. from July to mid-September (according to the established calendar)
2) Discover life in a cabin in the past, when electricity and water were not part of daily life, when hunting was not yet a leisure activity but rather a way to help with meals.Passionate about local culture and the heritage of their Pays de Born, the Gascons of Biscarrosse, wish to make you discover and share this life that their ancestors led in the heart of the Landes forest, through living pictures evoking the gestures of everyday life (food, laundry, wool ...), work and occupations (the gem maker, the basket maker, the pit sawyer, the rope maker ...). All this is accompanied by traditional songs and local language.
Visits take place on Mondays at 10 a.m. in July and August (according to the established calendar)
3) Nature walk to discover the history of the forest. This new walk has for theme the discovery of the history of the forest, it is in the company of real enthusiasts that you will survey the paths and trails. During this walk, the natural and historical heritage will have no more secret for you! The Pins Bouteilles, the tar ovens? We tell you everything!
The walks take place every Monday at 9:30 am in July and August. (According to established calendar)
Duration of the visits: 2 h to 2h30 max.
