Notre-Dame d’Ychoux Church

Rue Felix Arnaudin, Ychoux See the map
The church of Notre-Dame would date from the 14th century but a document (the cartulary of the cathedral of Dax) speaks of a church dating from 1160. It presents a portal of ogival style which would date from the 17th century. It features two bas-reliefs: one represents the Assumption of the Virgin and the other the triumph of the Archangel Gabriel. Notches made with an axe have heavily damaged it. This portal is protected by a porch that dates from 1800-1830. This church was heavily decorated in the 19th century.
